I used to a Microsoft MVP from 2014–2016. I was not so satified with Microsoft MVP program because it’s useless and a few MVPs in China doesn’t wanna contribute at all after they got a MVP. But it’s still ok at that moment.

Several days ago, a friend of mine told me that a current Microsoft Regional Director Jeffery Su did something really weird. Jeffery has a company called Senparc in Suzhou, China. He is the boss of my friend. He told my friend that he can give him a MVP if he work hard for his company. I double check with my friend because I’m a bit shocked. Did he say like this or you misunderstand him? Is he in charge of approving MVP application? I don’t fully understand. My friend said he just said this clearly. It’s so weird. It even can be a crime if Jeffery do wanna bribe MVP title to anyone. This is totally not acceptable.

Well, when I was a MVP, my MVP title was approved by someone in Redmond HQ. It’s impossible that someone in China can determine it even if he is a RD. It doesn’t make sense. I have no idea what happened to the current approval process of MVP program.

It looks MVP title becomes a commodity that you can guarantee someone to get it or you can even “sell” it with a price. I REALLY DON’T UNDERSTAND THIS. It’s kind of bullshit. What Microsoft CELA is doing? Are…
