It’s my second visit to Kuala Lumpur. The local people in KL are so warm. Although I’m a foreigner, they are willing to help me all the time.
First story
Last year, I took a Grab to the Genting Resort from an airbnb I booked at the foot of the Genting moutain. I forgot my bag in the car by mistake. I even didn’t notice it until one Grab staff call me to check if I lost a blue bag in the Grab. I’m so worried because my wallet is in it and all my bank cards are in this wallet.
However, the Grab driver contact me on What’s app and say “Don’t worry. I’ll bring the bag back to your building.” And he is so warm that he even took a picture to show that he gave the bag to the security of the building.
Big thanks to this guy. Since I don’t get a chance to thank him face to face, I give him some tips via Grab app.
It’s the first time I get to know how warm Malaysia local people are.
Second story
I’m visiting the KL this year again. We had a dinner in the food court of the Central Market. My daughter forgot her bag there. There are some star cards in this bag. The cards are very important to her.
I don’t think we can get the bag back because there are many customers in this food court. It’s very possible that someone takes it away (At least it’s very possible in China. You never get the bag back.) But I still wanna check my luck and I bring my daughter to the Central Market again the next day.
We went to the security counter of the food court. And I described to them that my daughter lost a bag last night. It’s a surprise that he knew it and he said wait a second. When he brought the bag out of a cabinet, he wanna my daughter to say what’s inside the bag to check if she is the real owner of the bag. Then my daughter described it and we got our bag back.
Many many thanks to these excellent security guys. My daughter was so happy. The first thing comes into my mind is that we are so lucky. However, it’s not about luck at all. The people here are so honest and warm. They know someone may get into trouble if they lost the bag and they wanna help.
Summary
Kuala Lumpur is a nice place to visit. Of course, there are a lot of sightseeings you can go in KL. It’s a city for travelling. However, without the warm people here, the sightseeings are just sightseeings.
We are travelling for not only knowing somewhere to play here, but to understand the culture and know the local people here.
